Experience
I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University, which is located in Upland, Indiana. After I received my degree from Taylor, I worked as volunteer teacher in Ethiopia for 12 months, teaching children English. When I came back to the United States, I went West and settled in Colorado. I live in Englewood and work as a licensed teacher. I have taught at a charter school and have the certifications to work as teacher for grades kindergarten through 6. Most of my teaching has been at the first- and second-grade levels. I love what I do. I find great joy in building a relationship with a youngster and providing the support to help them be successful academically. I can provide tutoring to elementary students in grades K - 6 in handwriting, math, grammar and mechanics, phonics, writing, art, and reading. I hold firm in my view that education is vitally important for every person. It is the driver in ensuring a better quality of life for everyone. When I teach and tutor, I work to imprint this thinking upon my students. Outside the classroom, I like to run, hike, camp, and read. I also enjoy traveling and watching and playing sports.
