ExperienceI am a Virginia and Wyoming certified K-6 teacher and have taught for twelve years. I most recently taught 5th Grade Math and Science in Charlottesville, VA and recently moved to Englewood, CO for graduate school. I have taught every grade kindergarten through sixth and have worked as a tutor for six years. I enjoy working with students to connect their current knowledge to new concepts. I believe that students learn best by playing games and participating in hands-on experiences. Teaching children to love what they are learning is the key to developing lifelong learners. I create lessons that support exploration, creative thinking and authentic problem solving. I have received exceptional performance evaluations each year that I have taught and can provide references upon request. I was selected as the Veterans Affairs Teacher of the Year for the Grafenwohr, Germany U.S. military community in 2008.
HobbiesI enjoy traveling, reading, running, volleyball and cooking.
